🔹 What is PEEK/PEK
PEEK/PEK is a semi-crystalline aromatic copolymer. This blend results in a material with a more flexible structure during melting than pure PEK, yet maintaining identical thermal stability to PEEK HT. This allows for easier extrusion and welding. It offers metallic rigidity, a tensile strength > 200 MPa, and is halogen-free, making it the ultimate choice for engine and aerospace components.
🔧 Composition & Properties
- Base: 60–70% PEEK, 30–40% PEK.
- Density: 1.32–1.36 g/cm³.
- Melting Point: ≈ 360 °C.
- Chemical Resistance: Exceptional.
- Continuous Heat Resistance: 280–300 °C.

🔩 Material Compatibility
- ✅ Compatible: PEEK, PEEK+GF, PEEK+CF, PEEK+HT, PPS, PPSU, PES, PEI.
- ⚠️ Good Compatibility: PPA, PPS+CF, PEEK+PEI.
- ❌ Incompatible: PP, PE, PS, ABS, PC, PET (completely different melting points).
💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: Use PEEK or PEEK/PEK rods at 400 °C. Heat uniformly and avoid forced air — slow cooling ensures a dense bond without internal stresses.
🧠 How to Identify PEEK/PEK
- Engraved marking: >PEEK/PEK<, >VESTAKEEP HT<, >VICTREX HTA<.
- Texture: Matte surface, black or dark gray.
- ReplastMD practical test: Rock-rigid, does not warp under 300 °C hot air. Self-extinguishes during burning with a neutral scent.
