🧩 TPC-EE – Copolyester Elastomer (Ester-Ester)

(A high-performance copolyester elastomer composed exclusively of ester-type hard and soft segments. TPC-EE offers superior resistance to high temperatures up to 200 °C, oils, fuels, and mechanical fatigue.)

🔹 What is TPC-EE

TPC-EE is the “high-heat” version of technical elastomers. At ReplastMD, we treat it as a superior alternative to TPC-ET for environments where hydro-degradation or intense heat is a risk. Since all segments are ester-based, it provides better thermal stability and chemical resistance in lubricants and fuels. It is the preferred material for high-precision EGR ducts, vacuum lines, and dynamic seals that must survive constant stress under the hood.

🔧 Composition & Properties

  • Polymer Base: Rigid Polyester (PBT/PET) + Flexible Polyester Segments.
  • Density: ~ 1.20 – 1.30 g/cm³.
  • Operating Range: Constant use up to +200 °C.
  • Chemical Resistance: Outstanding (oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids).
  • Visuals: Elastic, smooth, medium gloss; black, grey, or translucent.

🚗 Where it is used in the automotive industry

ComponentExample partsObservations
High-Temp BellowsVW, Toyota, RenaultOil and extreme temperature resistance
EGR / Vacuum DuctsBMW, FordChemical stability in contact with hot fluids
Dynamic Rollers / BeltsMercedes, PeugeotExceptional resistance to cyclic fatigue
Anti-vibration MountsHyundai, DaciaHigh durability under repeated loads

🔧 Welding and Bonding Methods

MethodOptimal TempObservations
Hot Air260 – 280 °CClean welding without carbonization
Heat Plate (Mirror)RecommendedVery strong, uniform bonding
UltrasonicIdealEffective for technical thin-walled parts

💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: Weld at ~270 °C using digital temperature control or teflon-coated heating plates. TPC-EE is ideal for automotive hoses and gaskets where maximum mechanical and chemical durability at high temperatures is required.
