🔹 What is PPS+Valox

PPS+Valox is a compatibilized blend where PPS provides rigidity and chemical resistance, while Valox® (PBT) contributes toughness, flexibility, and better processability. This combination improves impact behavior and reduces internal stresses while maintaining the heat and chemical resistance required for harsh engine bay environments.

🔧 Composition & Properties

  • Base: 60–80% PPS, 20–40% PBT (Valox®).
  • Density: 1.40–1.50 g/cm³.
  • Melting Point: ≈ 270–290 °C.
  • Chemical Resistance: Excellent (oils, fuels, solvents).
  • Continuous Heat Resistance: 210–230 °C.

🔩 Material Compatibility

  • Compatible: PPS, PBT, PPS+GF, PBT+PPS, PBT+GF, PPA.
  • ⚠️ Good Compatibility: PPS+Noryl, PPS+CF, PPS+PA, PPS+PEEK.
  • Incompatible: PP, PE, PS, ABS, PC, PET (completely different melting points).

💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: Use PPS or PPS+PBT (Valox) rods at 300°C. Heat uniformly and avoid excessive pressure to prevent phase separation. Slow cooling ensures a compact structure and a perfect bond.

🧠 How to Identify PPS+Valox

  • Engraved marking: >PPS+VALOX<, >PPS+PBT<, >RYTON PBT<, >FORTRON PBT<.
  • Texture: Semi-glossy, fine, with moderate rigidity.
  • ReplastMD practical test: If the part is rigid but slightly elastic with a smooth finish and PPS+Valox markings, it’s confirmed. Softens at ≈ 285 °C.
