🧩 PP-TPE-TV20 – Polypropylene + TPE + Mineral 20%
(Hybrid thermoplastic elastic material obtained by combining Polypropylene (PP) with Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) and 20% mineral filler (TV20))
🔹 What is PP-TPE-TV20
PP-TPE-TV20 belongs to the reinforced elastic olefinic compound family, where TPE provides flexibility and mineral talc (TV20) stabilizes the material thermally and structurally.
It is frequently used for parts that must combine the mechanical strength of PP with the elasticity and vibration absorption of TPE. Commonly found in Renault, Dacia, Ford, and VW applications under TV20 / TVX20 / M20 markings. It is used in exterior and interior automotive parts requiring impact resistance, a rubberized texture, and stable thermal behavior.
🔧 Composition
| Component | Typical Proportion | Role |
| Polypropylene (PP) | 50–60 % | Structural matrix, rigidity |
| TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) | 20–30 % | Elasticity, impact resistance |
| Mineral (TV20) | 20 % | Stiffening and thermal stabilization |
| Additives | < 5 % | Protection and exterior finishing |
🚗 Automotive Applications
| Component | Example parts | Observations |
| Bumpers and Diffusers | Extensions, bumper corners, guards | Semi-flexible, UV stable |
| Sill protectors / Under-trays | Panels, engine covers | Soft texture, uniform finish |
| Wheel Arches | Fender liners, shields | Lightweight, deformation resistant |
| Decorative Components | Main grilles, exterior parts | Matte finish, thermally stable |
🔩 Welding Compatibility
| Mating Material | Compatibility | Observations |

🛠️ PP-TPE-TV20 Welding at ReplastMD
| Method | Temperature | Observations |
| Hot Air | 230 – 250 °C | Recommended – PP-TPE / TPO rod |
| Heat plate (Mirror) | 220 – 240 °C | Clean, uniform bonding |
| Extrusion | 230 – 250 °C | For thick or stressed parts |
💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: use TPO or PP-TPE welding rods, clean with isopropyl alcohol, and maintain a constant flow of hot air.
