🔩 What to weld PP-TD20 with (Material compatibility)
Many ask what to weld PP-TD20 with — the answer: only with polypropylene of the same type (PP-TD or PP-H).
Talc does not affect compatibility but changes the melting behavior – therefore, the temperature must be adjusted.
✅ Compatible:
- PP-TD20 ↔ PP-TD20 – the most stable and resistant combination
- PP-TD10 / PP-TD30 – partially compatible, can be combined if necessary
- PP-H / PP-C – compatible, but shrinkage differences may occur
- PP+GF – temporary only, not recommended for stress zones
❌ Incompatible:
- PE (Polyethylene) – will not adhere; melting point too low
- ABS, ASA, PC, PA – different chemical structure, impossible to bond
