🧩 PP-EPDM-TX10 – Polypropylene + EPDM + Modified Talc 10%
(Lightweight elastic olefinic material composed of Polypropylene (PP), EPDM synthetic rubber, and 10% modified talc (TX10))
🔹 What is PP-EPDM-TX10
PP-EPDM-TX10 belongs to the family of elastic olefinic materials with modified mineral fillers. The TX talc (silane or titanate-treated) ensures better adhesion between the PP-EPDM phases and a smooth surface finish.
It is primarily used for semi-flexible, elastic, and aging-resistant parts such as casings, covers, corners, and bumper protections. It is a softer and lighter version of the PP-EPDM-TX20 compound. Frequently found on BMW, Renault, Dacia, Mercedes, and VW parts under TX10, TX15, and TX20 markings.
🔧 Composition
| Component | Typical Proportion | Role |
| Polypropylene (PP) | 60–65 % | Structure and moderate rigidity |
| EPDM rubber | 25–30 % | Elasticity, impact resistance |
| Modified Talc (TX10) | 10 % | Light stiffening, dimensional stability |
| Additives | < 5 % | Protection and aesthetic finish |
🚗 Automotive Applications
| Component | Example parts | Observations |
| Bumpers / Corners | Covers, diffusers, sill extensions | Semi-flexible, UV resistant |
| Lower Protections | Under-shields, technical panels | Soft texture, slightly elastic |
| Wheel Arches | Arched or curved parts | Vibration absorption, thermally stable |
| OEM Applications | BMW, Dacia, Renault, VW, PSA | Common TX10–TX20 markings |
🔩 Welding Compatibility
| Mating Material | Compatibility | Observations |
| PP-EPDM, TX15/20, TPO, TEO | ✅ Excellent | Excellent welding – common structure |
| Plain PP, TD10/20 | ⚠️ Fair | Possible, but lower adhesion |
| TPE-O, TPE-V | ⚠️ Limited | Partially weldable |
| PA, PC, ABS, PET, PVC | ❌ Incompatible | Chemically and thermally incompatible |

🛠️ PP-EPDM-TX10 Welding at ReplastMD
| Method | Temperature | Observations |
| Hot Air | 230 – 250 °C | Ideal – PP-EPDM / TPO rod |
| Heat plate (Mirror) | 220 – 240 °C | Clean joint, no shrinkage |
| Extrusion | 230 – 250 °C | For higher thicknesses |
💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: welds excellently with PP-EPDM or TPO rods. Cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and air flow control is recommended.
