🧩 PP-EPDM-TVX20-I – Polypropylene + EPDM + Modified Mineral
(Advanced composite olefinic material composed of Polypropylene (PP), EPDM rubber, and approx. 20% modified mineral (TVX))
🔹 What is PP-EPDM-TVX20-I
PP-EPDM-TVX20-I belongs to the family of PP-EPDM compounds with treated mineral fillers (“X” stands for modified mineral, often silane-treated calcite or talc).
This formula ensures an ideal balance between rigidity, elasticity, and UV stability, while offering better adhesion to automotive paints and primers. The “I” (Injection Grade) version is intended for exterior automotive parts — specifically bumpers, covers, and aerodynamic diffusers — that require structural strength and a uniform matte finish. Frequently used by BMW, Mercedes, Renault, and the VAG group.
🔧 Composition
| Component | Typical Proportion | Role |
| PP (Polypropylene) | 50–60 % | Rigid matrix and dimensional stability |
| EPDM rubber | 20–25 % | Elasticity and vibration damping |
| Mod. Mineral (TVX20) | 20 % | Stiffening + improved adhesion |
| Additives | < 5 % | Protection and durability |
🚗 Automotive Applications
| Component | Example parts | Observations |
| Bumpers and Spoilers | Bumper corners, sill extensions | Rigid-elastic, matte finish |
| Diffusers and Protections | Air diffusers, engine guards | Impact and heat stable |
| Exterior Casings | Sensor housings, wheel covers | Uniform look, good paintability |
| BMW / Renault / VW / Merc | TVX20 / I marked parts | Standard material for injected exterior |
🔩 Welding Compatibility

🛠️ PP-EPDM-TVX20-I Welding at ReplastMD
| Method | Temperature | Observations |
| Hot Air | 230 – 250 °C | Recommended – PP-EPDM or TPO rod |
| Heat plate (Mirror) | 220 – 240 °C | Uniform bonding, no deformation |
| Extrusion | 230 – 250 °C | Thick or stressed zones |
💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: use PP-EPDM or TPO welding rods, maintain constant hot air flow, moderate pressure, and clean with isopropyl alcohol.
