🧩 PP-EPDM-TV20-I – Polypropylene + EPDM + Mineral 20%
(Modified elastomeric olefinic material composed of Polypropylene (PP), EPDM rubber, and 20% mineral filler (TV20))
🔹 What is PP-EPDM-TV20-I
PP-EPDM-TV20-I is a hybrid material between polypropylene and EPDM rubber, modified with 20% mineral filler (talc or specially treated calcite).
It offers an ideal balance between flexibility, rigidity, and dimensional stability, featuring excellent resistance to impact and vibrations, even at low temperatures. The “I” suffix marks the industrial Injection Grade formula. It is frequently used for exterior components requiring UV resistance, a technical matte aesthetic, and controlled elastic behavior.
🔧 Composition
| Component | Typical Proportion | Role |
| PP (Polypropylene) | 55–65 % | Rigid structural matrix |
| EPDM (Synthetic Rubber) | 15–25 % | Flexibility, elasticity |
| Mineral (TV20) | 20 % | Increases rigidity and thermal resistance |
| Additives | < 5 % | Protection and durability |
🚗 Automotive Applications
| Component | Example parts | Observations |
| Bumpers and protections | Spoilers, diffusers, sill extensions | Semi-rigid, shock stable |
| Wheel Arches | Fender liners, wheel covers | Damps vibrations |
| Engine Covers | Under-shields and oil pan panels | Thermal and mechanical resistance |
| BMW / Mercedes / Renault | Codes with “TV20 / I” | Common in exterior injected parts |
🔩 Welding Compatibility
| Mating Material | Compatibility | Observations |
| PP-EPDM, TPO, TEO, PP-TD20 | ✅ Excellent | Excellent welding – common family |
| Plain PP, PP-MD20, TV15 | ⚠️ Fair | Partially compatible |
| TPE-O, TPE-V | ⚠️ Low | Welding possible, but low adhesion |
| PA, PC, ABS, PET, PVC | ❌ Incompatible | Thermally and chemically incompatible |
