🧩 PP-EPDM-TD10 – Polypropylene + EPDM + Talc 10%
(Semi-elastic olefinic material from the PP-EPDM family, modified with 10% talc (TD10) for a balance between flexibility, light stiffness, and moderate thermal stability)
🔹 What is PP-EPDM-TD10
PP-EPDM-TD10 is a thermoplastic compound resulting from polypropylene (providing the structure) and EPDM (for flexibility and shock absorption), with fine talc (~10%) added for additional rigidity.
It is a softer and more elastic variant than PP-EPDM-TD20 or TD30, ideal for parts that must withstand repeated deformation without cracking. It is used for exterior and interior automotive components where impact resistance and a matte finish are required (bumpers, covers, and lower guards).
🔧 Composition
| Component | Typical Proportion | Role |
| PP (Polypropylene) | 60–65 % | Structural matrix, rigidity |
| EPDM | 25–30 % | Elasticity, impact resistance |
| Talc (TD10) | 10 % | Increases thermal stability and moderate rigidity |
| Additives | < 5 % | Protection and finishing |
🚗 Automotive Applications
| Component | Example parts | Observations |
| Bumpers and Corners | Sill extensions, lower diffusers | Semi-flexible, matte |
| Wheel Arches / Shields | Interior and exterior parts | Elastic, impact resistant |
| Engine Covers | Decorative covers | Good UV and thermal resistance |
| Renault / VW / Ford OEM | “T10” marking | Frequently found in exterior injected parts |
🔩 Welding Compatibility
| Mating Material | Compatibility | Observations |
| PP-EPDM, TPO, TEO, PP-TD10/20 | ✅ Excellent | Easy to weld – common family |
| Plain PP, PP-MD20 | ⚠️ Fair | Partially compatible |
| TPE-O, TPE-V | ⚠️ Limited | Limited weldability |
| PA, PC, ABS, PET, PVC | ❌ Incompatible | Thermally incompatible |

🛠️ PP-EPDM-TD10 Welding at ReplastMD
| Method | Temperature | Observations |
| Hot Air | 230 – 250 °C | Recommended – PP-EPDM / TPO rod |
| Heat plate (Mirror) | 220 – 240 °C | Clean joint, no deformation |
| Extrusion | 230 – 250 °C | Recommended for thick zones |
💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: use PP-EPDM or TPO welding rods, clean with isopropyl alcohol, and ensure controlled air flow.
