🧩 PE-LD-TD20 – 20% Talc Filled Low-Density Polyethylene
(Flexible reinforced thermoplastic material, composed of Low-Density Polyethylene (PE-LD) and 20% talc (TD20))
🔹 What is PE-LD-TD20
PE-LD-TD20 is a flexible variant of talc-filled polyethylene, where the talc provides stiffness and stability without completely eliminating the characteristic elasticity of PE-LD.
It features good flexibility, moderate dimensional stability, and excellent impact resistance at low temperatures. It is suitable for automotive, electrical, and packaging applications where chemical resistance, malleability, and stable cold-weather performance are required. Similar markings include PE-LD-T15, TD25, TD30, and PE-LLD-TD20.
🔧 Composition
| Component | Typical Proportion | Role |
| PE-LD (Low-Density Polyethylene) | 75–80 % | Flexible matrix, cold impact resistance |
| Talc (TD20) | 20 % | Stiffening, shrinkage reduction |
| Additives | < 5 % | Protection and material longevity |
🚗 Automotive Applications
| Component | Example parts | Observations |
| Flexible Caps and Gaskets | Protective covers, spacers | Elastic, lightweight, chemical resistant |
| Insulation and Cable Routing | Tubes, sleeves, interior insulation | Highly malleable, no cracking at cold temperatures |
| Light Shields and Guards | Casings, flexible flaps | Good vibration absorption |
| Auto/Industrial Packaging | Trays, separators, supports | Good processability via injection or extrusion |
🔩 Welding Compatibility
| Mating Material | Compatibility | Observations |
| PE-LD, PE-LLD, PE-MD, PE-HD-TD20 | ✅ Excellent | Very good weldability – PE family |
| PP, PP-TD20, PP-EPDM | ⚠️ Fair | Partial compatibility (low adhesion) |
| TPO, TEO, TPE-O | ⚠️ Limited | Partially weldable with adapted rod |
| PA, PC, PVC, ABS, PET | ❌ Incompatible | Chemically and thermally incompatible |

🛠️ PE-LD-TD20 Welding at ReplastMD
| Method | Temperature | Observations |
| Hot Air | 230 – 250 °C | Recommended – PE-LD or soft PE-HD rod |
| Heat plate (Mirror) | 220 – 240 °C | Uniform bonding, no deformations |
| Extrusion | 230 – 250 °C | For thicknesses > 3 mm |
💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: use PE-LD or soft PE-HD welding rods, avoid overheating, and maintain constant, clean air flow.
