🧩 PC+GF30 – Polycarbonate 30% Glass Fiber Reinforced
(High-performance reinforced technical material, with superior mechanical and thermal resistance. Designed for demanding automotive applications where maximum rigidity and dimensional stability are required in extreme conditions.)
🔹 What is PC+GF30
PC+GF30 is a polycarbonate reinforced with 30% glass fiber, an advanced version of PC+GF20.
The higher fiber content grants the material excellent rigidity, very good resistance to high temperatures, and minimal deformation under load. It is used in technical and structural parts within the engine bay, headlight mounts, consoles, and metal-to-plastic fasteners. Compared to simple PC, it is heavier, harder, and significantly less flexible.
🔧 Composition
- Polycarbonate (PC): 65–70 %
- Glass Fiber (GF): 30 %
- Thermal / UV Stabilizers: 1–3 %
- Density: 1.40–1.45 g/cm³
- Melting Point: ≈ 230–250 °C
- Mechanical Strength: Very high.
- Chemical Resistance: Good (oils, mild solvents, fuels).
🚗 Where PC+GF30 is used in the automotive industry
| Component | Example parts | Observations |
| Engine Bay | Covers, supports, consoles | Extreme rigidity, thermal stability |
| Headlight Mounts | Frames, brackets, fixing bases | No deformation under heat or vibration |
| Technical Interior | Housings, mounting plates | Dimensional stability under load |
| Technical Exterior | Non-visible structural parts | Matte, textured, very hard |
🔧 Welding Temperature and Methods
| Method | Optimal Temperature | Observations |
| Hot Air | 280 – 320 °C | Requires slow preheating; difficult to weld |
| Heat Plate (Mirror) | 270 – 300 °C | Technical joint for thick parts |
| Manual Extrusion | 270 – 300 °C | For long cracks, reinforcements, or structural repairs |
🔩 What to Weld PC+GF30 With (Material Compatibility)
The high glass fiber content modifies the melting behavior and makes the material less compatible with other common blends.
✅ Compatible with:
- PC+GF30 ↔ PC / PC+GF / PC+ABS / PC+PBT – good compatibility.
- PC+GF30 ↔ PC-FR / PC-HI / PC+GF20 – partially compatible.
❌ Incompatible with:
- PP, PE, PA, PVC, PS, simple ABS, TPO – poor adhesion, uneven melting.
💡 ReplastMD Recommendation:
Use PC+GF30 or PC+GF20 rods at 295–310 °C. Uniformly heat the entire area, not just the crack. Cooling must be done slowly to avoid micro-cracks caused by internal stresses.
🏭 Manufacturers and Trade Names

🧠 How to Identify PC+GF30
- Engraved marking: >PC+GF30<, >PC GF30<, >Makrolon GF30<.
- Matte, textured, hard surface.
- Feels heavy, no flexibility.
- White glass fibers are visible at the cut.
- Does not melt easily; it softens slowly.
