🔹 What is PC+ASA
PC+ASA is a bistructural technical blend resulting from the combination of polycarbonate (PC) and ASA (acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate).
This combination offers high mechanical and thermal strength (from PC) along with exceptional UV and weather stability (from ASA). Unlike PC+ABS, PC+ASA does not fade or turn matte and withstands long-term solar exposure, making it the preferred choice for exterior parts and highly visible areas.

- Polycarbonate (PC): 50–70 %
- ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate): 30–50 %
- UV / Thermal Additives: 1–3 %
- Density: 1.10–1.15 g/cm³
- Softening Point: ≈ 230–250 °C
- Chemical Resistance: Good (oils, detergents, mild solvents).
- UV Resistance: Excellent (intended for exterior use).

🔩 What to Weld PC+ASA With (Material Compatibility)
The PC+ASA blend combines the compatibility of PC with ASA styrenics, offering a wide range of possible welds.
✅ Compatible with:
- PC+ASA ↔ PC / ASA / ABS / PC+ABS / ASA+PC – ideal.
- PC+ASA ↔ SAN+ABS / ABS+ASA / PC+PBT – good compatibility.
❌ Incompatible with:
- PP, PE, PA, PVC, PS, TPO – completely different melting points.
💡 ReplastMD Recommendation:
Use PC+ASA rods or PC+ABS rods at 255–270 °C. Heat gradually to avoid burning the glossy layer. For visible parts, you can restore the gloss with controlled hot air or UV polish.
