🧩 PBT+PET+GF30 – PBT + PET 30% Glass Fiber

(High-performance technical material obtained by combining PBT and PET, reinforced with 30% glass fiber. This composite offers high mechanical strength, excellent dimensional stability, and superior thermal durability.)

🔹 What is PBT+PET+GF30

PBT+PET+GF30 combines the advantages of both polyesters:

  • PBT – easy to process, impact resistant, and low moisture absorption.
  • PET – tough, dimensionally stable, and highly resistant to abrasion.Together, they form a material with a balance of rigidity and toughness, reinforced with glass fiber for high mechanical requirement applications.

🔩 What to Weld with (Material Compatibility)

  • PBT, PET, PBT-GF, PC+PBT ✅ — Weldable (heat plate, ultrasonic).
  • PBT+ASA, Xenoy®, Valox® ⚠️ — Partially compatible (thermal control required).
  • PBT+PET-GF20 / GF40 ⚠️ — Possible with similar temperatures.
  • PP, PE, PA, PVC, ABS ❌ — Chemically and thermally incompatible.

🏭 Manufacturers and Trade Names

  • DuPont: Crastin® PBT/PET GF30
  • BASF: Ultradur® B+PET GF30
  • Celanese: Celanex® PET/PBT GF30
  • SABIC: Valox® PBT/PET GF30

🧠 How to Identify

  • Marking: >PBT+PET+GF30<, >PBT/PET-GF30<, >Crastin-GF30<.
  • Texture: Dense, rigid, slightly glossy, with visible fibers.
  • Density: ~1.45–1.52 g/cm³
  • ReplastMD practical test: Self-extinguishing flame, faint ester smell, white-grey ash. Very rigid and heat resistant — snaps without elastic deformation.

🛠️ Welding at ReplastMD:

  • Heat Plate (Mirror): 250 – 270 °C (Recommended – precise thermal control).
  • Ultrasonic / Vibration: ✅ Ideal (Ensures a solid and clean joint).

💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: Use PBT/PET rods or PBT+GF rods, with constant air and low pressure. Avoid overheating — PET becomes brittle under excessive melting.
