🧩 P/E-I-EPDM-TVX15 – PE+PP Copolymer + EPDM + Modified Mineral
(Advanced copolymeric olefin material, resulting from the blend of Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) with isotactic structure (I), modified with EPDM for flexibility and treated mineral filler (TVX) for superior mechanical and thermal stability)
🔹 What is P/E-I-EPDM-TVX15
P/E-I-EPDM-TVX15 represents an improved generation of “TV” compounds, where minerals (calcite, silicate, or dolomite) are chemically modified (X) for better adhesion to the polyolefin matrix.
The result is a semi-flexible, dense material with low shrinkage and high UV stability. It is a premium material typically used in exterior parts for Renault, Nissan, Dacia, and Mercedes, where durability, controlled elasticity, and OEM-quality matte finish are required.
🔧 Composition
| Component | Typical Proportion | Role |
| PE (Polyethylene) | 30–35 % | Flexibility and impact absorption |
| PP (Polypropylene) | 35–40 % | Structural stability and rigidity |
| EPDM (Synthetic Rubber) | 10–15 % | Elasticity, cold-weather performance |
| Modified Mineral (TVX) | 15 % | Mechanical strength and thermal stability |
| Additives | < 5 % | Protection and extended durability |
🚗 Automotive Applications
| Component | Example parts | Observations |
| Wheel Arch Liners | Renault, Dacia, Mercedes | Semi-flexible, thermally stable |
| Engine Shields / Casings | Flat protectors, mechanical covers | Rigid, dense, vibration resistant |
| Exterior Caps / Side Sills | Lateral extensions, diffusers | Matte finish, technical appearance |
| Lower Body Parts | Bumper corners, sensor protectors | UV stable, precise shape after mounting |
🔩 Welding Compatibility
| Mating Material | Compatibility | Observations |
| P/E-I-EPDM, PP-EPDM, PP-TPO, TEO | ✅ Excellent | Common polyolefin structure |
| PP-TD, PP-EPDM-TV20, TPO-TD15 | ⚠️ Fair | Requires modified TPO welding rod |
| TPE-O, TPE-V | ⚠️ Limited | Partially weldable with controlled elastic rod |
| PA, PC, PVC, ABS, PET | ❌ Incompatible | Chemically and thermally incompatible |
