🧩 MABS – Methyl Methacrylate Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

(A high-impact transparent copolymer combining the optical clarity of PMMA with the toughness and elasticity of ABS. It offers high gloss, mechanical resistance, and maintains clarity even in thick-walled sections.)

🔹 What is MABS

MABS is essentially transparent ABS. At ReplastMD, we treat it as a premium aesthetic material. By replacing part of the styrene with methyl methacrylate (PMMA), the polymer gains superior gloss and better chemical resistance without sacrificing impact strength. It is easily injection-molded and remains clear and resilient even at cold temperatures, making it the perfect choice for high-end interior trims and lighting components.

🔧 Composition & Properties

  • Polymer Base: ABS (~70%) + PMMA (~30%).
  • Density: ~ 1.06 – 1.10 g/cm³.
  • Operating Range: Up to 85 °C.
  • Impact Resistance: High (even at low temperatures).
  • Visuals: Smooth, high-gloss, transparent or translucent; crystal clear or tinted.
