🧩 FKM+GF – Glass Fiber Reinforced Fluoroelastomer

(A high-performance composite combining extreme thermal resistance, dimensional stability, and high mechanical hardness. FKM+GF is a premium technical material used in seals, valves, and rigid gaskets exposed to oils, pressure, and high temperatures.)

🔹 What is FKM+GF

FKM+GF is an elite technical composite. At ReplastMD, we treat it as “reinforced Viton.” By introducing 10–30% glass fiber into the fluoroelastomer matrix, a significant increase in rigidity and abrasion resistance is achieved. It maintains the chemical inertness of standard FKM while preventing the “cold flow” or deformation typical of non-reinforced rubbers under heavy mechanical loads.

🔧 Composition & Properties

  • Polymer Base: FKM (Fluorocarbon Rubber).
  • Reinforcement: E-glass fiber (10–30%).
  • Density: ~ 1.85 – 2.00 g/cm³.
  • Operating Range: Up to +250 °C.
  • Chemical Resistance: Exceptional (fuels, oils, high-pressure steam).
  • Visuals: Rigidized, dense rubber; matte black or dark grey.

💡 ReplastMD Recommendation: For FKM+GF repairs or sealing, use fluoroelastomer-specific adhesives and controlled hot air for activation (~260 °C). The material provides exceptional resistance to fluids, heat, and pressure, making it ideal for advanced automotive sealing and rigid anti-oil covers.
