🧩 BR – Polybutadiene Rubber

(A synthetic elastomer based on butadiene, recognized for its exceptional elasticity, high wear resistance, and impact durability. It features very high resilience and a low glass transition temperature of approximately –80 °C.)

🔹 What is BR

BR is the “resilience champion.” At ReplastMD, we treat this material as the ultimate choice for dynamic, anti-vibration applications. It has low mechanical hysteresis, meaning it returns energy efficiently during cyclic deformations. This makes it ideal for tires, engine mounts, and flexible joints that must withstand high fatigue and remain flexible even in the coldest climates.

🔧 Composition & Properties

  • Polymer Base: Polybutadiene (cis-1,4 BR).
  • Density: ~ 0.90 – 0.95 g/cm³.
  • Thermal Range: Excellent performance down to –80 °C.
  • Wear Resistance: High abrasion and fatigue resistance.
  • Visuals: Highly elastic black rubber; smooth with rapid recovery.
