🧩 ASA+PC – Acrylate Styrene Acrylate + Polycarbonate

(Premium technical material, impact, UV, and high-temperature resistant, combining the toughness of polycarbonate with the weather stability and acrylic gloss of ASA. Ideal for exterior and interior automotive components.)

🔹 What is ASA+PC

ASA+PC is an advanced technical blend obtained by combining ASA (Acrylate Styrene Acrylate) – known for its UV resistance and color stability – with PC (Polycarbonate) – which brings toughness, rigidity, and high thermal resistance.

The result is a glossy, durable, and heat-stable material, capable of maintaining its properties even under severe conditions. It is widely used in mirror housings, headlight frames, spoilers, air diffusers, and premium exterior components.

🔧 Composition

  • ASA (Acrylate Styrene Acrylate) – 40–60 %
  • PC (Polycarbonate) – 40–60 %
  • UV and thermal stabilizers – 1–5 %
  • Density: 1.10–1.18 g/cm³
  • Melting Point: ≈ 250–270 °C
  • UV Resistance: Excellent.
  • Impact Resistance: Very high, stable in cold and heat.

Manual Extrusion240 – 260 °CRecommended for cracks and mounts

🔩 What to Weld ASA+PC With (Material Compatibility)

As an acrylic-carbonic hybrid material, ASA+PC is compatible with ASA, PC, and ABS/PC or ABS/ASA blends.

Compatible with:

  • ASA+PC ↔ ASA+PC / PC+ASA / PC / ASA – ideal combination.
  • ASA+PC ↔ ABS+PC / ABS+ASA / ABS+PMMA – good compatibility.
  • ASA+PC ↔ ABS-HI / SAN – partially compatible.

Incompatible with:

  • PP, PE, PA, PVC, TPO – completely different melting points.

💡 ReplastMD Recommendation:

Use ASA+PC or PC+ABS rods at a temperature of 270–280 °C. Heat uniformly; avoid overheating (to prevent matting of the ASA layer). Finally, you can use a quick pass of hot air to equalize the gloss.
