In a society of disposable phones, cars, and even people, few still understand what a truly good car is. The iron companion has become a consumable item that must be bought on time and discarded on time — roughly after five years.
This ranking includes only cars with a soul and personality, even if sometimes a difficult one. At the same time, their current prices are not particularly high — any car from this list can be purchased for relatively little money.
We are talking about sedans from different classes, but what unites them is reliability, popularity among people, and other noteworthy qualities.
We present to you the top of the best cars — so, let’s begin.
MERCEDES 123

They were built from the mid-1970s to the 1980s and can withstand even the impact of a tank shell. It is practically impossible to break this car — it keeps going even when it logically shouldn’t.
Today, a Mercedes 123 can be found cheaper than a Zhiguli, and it commands incredible respect on the road. This is exactly the case where you can say that a forty-year-old Mercedes 123 will outlast any brand-new car.
Toyota Mark II

In second place we have the “Markovnik,” the “Samurai,” also known as the “kettle” or the “Cross” — this car gave birth to entire subcultures of Mark-series enthusiasts. The Mark 2 is not a car, it’s an orientation. I would call it a work of art, the pinnacle of engineering thought.
It may well be one of the best cars in history, but in first place remains the indestructible cast iron on wheels, the most underrated car of our time — the Mercedes 123.
HONDA ACCORD

In third place is the 4th-generation Honda Accord. There is an enormous difference in quality between the right-hand-drive versions and the left-hand-drive ones. For their domestic market, they truly build excellent cars. We consider only the right-hand-drive Honda…
TOYOTA CROWN

In fourth place is the Toyota Crown — a body-on-frame sedan from the Land of the Rising Sun. By the way, in terms of reliability, Toyota was the undisputed market leader and continues to hold its position to this day, regardless of circumstances.
MERCEDES W126

Fifth place in our “Top 15 cars” goes to the Mercedes W126 — a style icon, the most recognizable S-Class in history. Made for “iPhone zombies,” a tank disguised as a business sedan, Angela Merkel’s nightmare.
AUDI 100

Sixth place we give purely out of respect — it goes to the Audi 100. So many of these cars are still running on our roads. They were probably just built wisely and with soul.
NISSAN SKYLINE R34

“The Rock,” or the Nissan Skyline R34. But specifically in the R32 body — only right-hand drive and fully hardcore. For the Japanese, the Nissan Skyline is a national pride. A powerful, beautiful, and utterly reliable car.
BMW E36 КУПЕ

In 8th place — the BMW E36 Coupé. I don’t know much about this “coupe,” but I’ve read a lot and I see it very often on the streets of our city. And that says a lot, considering that this model was produced back in the early ’90s — a cool, stylish, powerful car from one’s youth.
Unfortunately, on the used car market it is very difficult to find a “living” example in good condition.
FORD FOCUS COUPE

Ninth place — many experts say that among all modern cars, the only ones that still have good engines are the Focus models.
124 MERCEDES

The Mercedes 124 takes the tenth spot in the ranking. We are referring to the model with a 2500 cm³ engine producing 326 horsepower. This machine is a true wolf in sheep’s clothing. It is very reliable, but unfortunately, finding a good example in Moldova is quite difficult.
TOYOTA CAMRY

Toyota Camry. The best Camry of all time and for all people is the Camry V30, released in 1996. Since then, every new generation has been worse than the previous one. I once had a right-hand-drive one. I didn’t even know car repair shops existed — it just kept going until you got tired of it.
As loud as it may sound, this car is considered one of the best in the world…
BMW Е38

The “Seven Series Beemer” from Bumer, the BMW E38, unlike modern BMWs, doesn’t fall apart while driving. Nowadays, buying one with your last money would be foolish. Maintenance and repair costs are high, as are the prices for parts and servicing.
The BMW brand is indeed rather expensive, but it remains a beautiful and reliable car…
VOLVO S80

Despite the myths about unreliability, it is actually a quite dependable car, designed for several decades of use. A very reliable and comfortable vehicle, with excellent interior quality; the leather on the seats is high-grade, and the sound insulation is also superb — much better than in the Camry, Audi, or BMW.
FORD CROWN VICTORIA

In 14th place is a car from the USA — the Ford Crown Victoria. Honestly, I have never driven an American car, so I might be mistaken — I’m simply repeating what friends who owned one told me. They say it’s a “devilish” machine, reliable and unstoppable.
It is over five meters long, with a 4628 cm³ engine. Most owners of this car have never opened the hood, because it’s too heavy — and besides, what is there to look at? It just runs and runs.
